I don't usually give a crap about grammar but I DO think it's important to try to show the bare minimum of thoughtfulness and respect when using words from languages that are from marginalized ethnic groups or often appropriated from in your own culture, especially when those words are often misused in harmful ways.

#this is why i am so insistent on fujoshi not being pluralized #because grammar is fake but misuse and appropriation of language is very real #and people want to take a very japanese word and twist its meaning around in a way that is harmful #woth absolutely no understanding of the language or cultural context it comes from #same with seraphim being treated as singular #like i cannot get into the thousands of years of appropriation and butchering of hebrew especially in religious contexts in these tags #but it's fucking bad. and the least we can do is try to correct ourselves and remember that this is a word taken from another language #and has been misused and appropriated in both religious and secular contexts #and that's a form of antisemitism we can learn to recognize and try to fix when we see it or contribute to it
